Deirdre’s has a B.A. From St. Leo University in Accounting with a minor in marketing. She has been a practicing Accountant for the past 23 years. October of 2011 marked the beginning of her online business, she started with $300 budget and items from around her home.
While maintaining a demanding accounting career and taking care of her home and family (a husband and 3 boys) in 2012, she sold over $26,000, along with receiving a Top Holiday Seller certificate from Amazon. In 2013, she left her accounting profession to run her business full time. We have to agree with her since during this year 2014 her sales Dashboard Year to Date compared to 2013 shows an average growth of 145% in sales.
We are excited to have Deirdre on the show today, we will talk about accounting, the fact that she is “coupon arbitrage” expert, and more…
That’s the subject of today’s entire show: Online Seller Success
Today, Charlene Anderson is helping me answer questions on the air and in the chat room.
Accounting Expertise
Deirdre is an expert user of Inventory Lab, Quickbooks Accounting and Evernote.
We love Evernote and are thrilled to pick her brain for accounting tips!
Selling Categories and Coupon Arbitrage Expert
Having a diversified inventory spread at Amazon – she sources mainly through retail arbitrage, and secondly through liquidation grocery stores, online arbitrage, local thrift, yard sales and craigslist.
Her two main categories of product are grocery and HBA with a close runner up in home-garden & toys. She is also a “Coupon Arbitrage” expert and uses coupons and clearance/close outs to source many HBA and grocery items.
Online Seller Success 6 Month Elite Coaching Program
Currently Deirdre has two groups of 12 Online sellers that are getting close to completing the OSS program. During this 6 month program, 3 have left their jobs to run their businesses full time, and several have tripled their sales and profits in just 4 months into the program.
This is a unique opportunity that focuses on understanding the numbers, and learning to analyze and plan – becoming proactive, rather than reactive. The success of the members of this group and praise for the effectiveness of the program has been overwhelming and heart warming for her.
The program closed off to new members in August…and she has further improved it and structured it to be just as effective, but to offer it to a larger number of sellers with primarily group coaching for up to 75 with full support from her and OSS Alumni staff (other sellers who completed the program and had stellar results).
