Holiday Best Selling Practices
Amazon wants to help us, they know we will be juggling inventory, orders, and customer contacts. Which will keep us extremely busy during this Q4 holiday season. To help us manage it all effectively, they’ve put together some “best practices” for us to enjoy successful selling
Delight buyers with great customer service
Handle returns, refunds and A-to-z Guarantee claims promptly
Manage your orders consistently
Deal with negative feedback
Create quality detailed product listings
Consider relisting popular out-of-stock products
Describe your items accurately
Manage your inventory proactively
Monitor your customer metrics closely
Do You Have A Big Bertha?
It is very important to make a sourcing plan for Black Friday Week. (Because it’s not all about the day after Thanksgiving anymore).
Are you making notes and writing things on ads etc. – I do. BUT I also make notes in Evernote and on my Google calendar.
For instance: in my gcal – I can set up “times” that deals are active on a specific day. I have the Gmail app and G-calendar app on my phone.
I can set an alert to remind me where and when I need to be.
I’ve lost my “Big Bertha – purple notebook that holds everything” (or forgotten it) but I never lose my phone. (Well – I have, but not during the holidays). AND… my notebook does not send me reminders.
Prices dropping with competition? Do you feel like Kenny Rogers in The Gambler? Do you want to know when to hold them or fold them?
Amazon has yet to receive your shipment even though it has been checked in. Or did your shipment get lost? Or is your stuff not showing in inbound and ya know you sent it?
Don’t get caught with your knickers around your ankles… Make sure you have plenty of supplies to keep you shipments flowing.
Here is your check list:
- Cardboard Boxes (make sure they support up to 50 pounds)
- Packing Tape
- Bubble Wrap
- Dymo Labels or Avery Labels
- UPC Numbers for all the amazing Holiday Bundles That Rock All Year, you will be creating
- UPS Shipping Labels
- Paper for Packing Slips
- Printer Toner
- Poly Bags From BubbleFast
- Suffocation Warning Labels
- This Is A Set Do Not Separate Labels
To Use A Repricing Service Or Not
During Q4 it is not in your businesses best interest to use a repricing service.
