Selling Toys On Amazon During The Q4 Holiday Season Is Soooo Much Fun!
While I am working towards a 100% Wholesale Amazon business, I still can’t make the complete switch so I am going to be hitting the local retail stores looking for toys! I mostly sell clothing and toys sourced from big box stores during Q4. The thrill of the deal is something many of us thrive on and arbitrage is often our passion.
I am restricted on some toy brands, but overall most of us can find enough unrestricted brands to make sourcing toys very profitable.
One of the best parts of learning to sell toys is the cross pollination that happens for sourcing other things that are hardly ever restricted. The same themes that are popular in toys are often just as popular in clothing, bedding and other home goods.
I Started My Toy Sourcing Training A Few Years Ago
A few years ago, I signed up for a 3 month course devoted to finding toys to sell on Amazon during Q4 (the holiday season). I sign up every year, because every year is different. Rarely is a toy popular and profitable more than one holiday season.
I have called this a course, but it is so much more than just a course. My personal favorite is the live sourcing video training. Seriously, this just rocks if you can’t figure out how to source for good toys. We actually go shopping (vicariously) live and go up and down the rows of Toys R Us while the baskets are filled with the best toys to sell right now.
I love seeing Seth pick up a toy that he is paying $6 and it sells for $48! We don’t always find these big numbers, but I would never know to look for them without Seth’s knowledge.
This course is run by Beth Maus and her son Seth. The daily training is run through a private Facebook group. It’s a pretty small group and the stuff they teach will knock your socks off. These two live and breathe toys. They make most of their full time income selling toys. They really KNOW toys.
Here is a short video I put together with snippets from last years Q4 training:
Some of the best reasons to sell toys on Amazon during Q4:
- Sourcing toys is fun, even my hubby likes to source toys with me because he gets to check out all the new super hero stuff.
- I rarely get a customer return for a toy. I sell a lot of clothing and the return rate is much higher.
- Many of the profitable toys I sell are not very costly.
- Most of the toys take very little if any prep (unlike the clothing I sell)
- The knowledge shared in this group is going to set me up for better than ever Q4 selling toys with Amazon.

p.s. The fun starts right around the 1st of October. But you won’t be buying, just learning. When it’s time to buy, you will know. Then it’s like a whirlwind for weeks. It’s exhausting and exhilarating and so much fun. The adrenaline rush is felt by everyone in the group.
