It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like A Purple Christmas Around Here

Yes… I’ve been decorating. It’s that time of year when I stop sharing a bunch of marketing ideas because I’m usually caught up in all the Christmas details.

This year is a really big deal. My oldest kid is getting married on Dec. 22 and of course being the “decorator” we are having the wedding here at home and I’m playing the Wedding Planner.

The wedding theme colors are purple and silver – so I’ve revamped my entire “usual” Christmas decorating scheme to follow along with the bride’s color choice.

I love it!

We usually have a huge open house party (bash type thing) just before Christmas – not this year. The bash is the wedding. 🙂

The “No News” Zone

If I fall off and don’t seem to be sharing a ton of “marketing” ideas with you for the next few weeks… you’ll know why.

I’m kind of a “One Woman Show” and can only do so much.  Sorry… but my kid takes priority and then Christmas.

It’s not that I don’t care about you… really.  I hope you are having some happy Christmas planning going on around your place as well.

The “No Gift” Zone

The really good thing is our entire family and friends group has made a pact – No Christmas Gifts this year!

You should try it. You will be surprised at the weight that is lifted from your shoulders. (… and the budget is going to the wedding – yeah me for having the best family – EVER)

Well… I still have a few gift surprises to pass out.  Most of them for my new grand-daughter(ish).  You see my son is marring a family… his new bride has a daughter. She is nine and I’m in love with her already.  So Santa is going to be extra nice to her this year. *giggle*

Plus – both my boys will just have to open a present from mom and my new DIL will be joining in the fun.

All in all – the “No Christmas Gift” thing is a true blessing. We are all going to be sharing the happiest moment in my son’s life – together.

I Cry Over Everything

Today I read the marriage vows planned for this wedding… yep sniffles.

Then I had to search around for a song to use for our son/mom dance.  Ready for a real mom-cry moment?

The Outlaws Are Coming

I’ll let you in on a little secret… my new DIL’s mom (who I met for the first time today) is so much fun and so nice… my hubby and I are so happy to be gaining new family that we actually really like.

The other secret – my kids are from a previous marriage.  Gads – I’ve got to share this blessed day with “those” people.  My ex – his wife – his “other kids” – and all the other out-laws.

Not to worry… you all know I’m nice and can smile even when I’d like to spit nails.

Anyway – just thought I’d share a bit of Christmas Love today.

Wow! You do have your hands full. I bet the wedding will be just beautiful…especially since they are using one of my favorite colors, purple. You enjoy your family and friends during the Christmas season and we will see you when you come back. No one will be home Christmas day here. Hubby will be working and Daughter and grandkids are going up to San Antonio so they can celebrate with their 84 yo grandmother and their father who is very sick and might not be here next Christmas. We will pick another day to give them their gifts and celebrate our family and Christmas.

    Enjoy your time off.

It all sounds so exciting Debra. I’ll bet you’re in decorators heaven!

Ha, the 22nd, that’s when Peter has his angiogram, so it’s been a prominent date in our minds. Who knows if they’ll keep him in for an op, but it’s on the cards. So our Christmas may be a bit different to yours! lol.

If that doesn’t happen, we will have our usual shindig surrounded by lots of family members. Peter has a large family and some of his sisters are coming from Interstate & o/s.

Thanks Debra. I’ve also got a gastroscopy 2 days prior. Never rains but what it pours, right? Nothing serious, well I hope not 🙂 The next available appt. for me was Valentines Day next yr.

I will definitely keep you posted.

BTW I sent someone else your way. She’s interested in ‘Blog In A Day’! And my sales have slowed down. Still dribbles of money being made, but I know it’s my lack of ability to get traffic. Need more than just Twitter & IMAutomator, I think. LOVING using PLR!

    Debra,

Wow! It just a few days until 12/22 so good luck with the calming of the nerves, take long slow deep breaths :), and just for kicks you should put up some mistletoe just above where bride and groom will stand, throw a little “green and red” into the purple and silver. ;), after all it is a “Christmas Wedding”. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
