Part of a series here: Working On The Road Trip
Finally… we have one day of NO Driving! Yippee…
I visited with my friend Fiona (while she gave me a nice basic manicure) and we caught up on her life and kids. I met her middle child – the cutest little cherub faced gal. One of those girly-tomboy types.
Hubby entertained himself at the local Bakery. This is one of those local family owned (been around forever) places. He was in heaven.
The afternoon was full:
First had lunch with my son (the coach) and his team. This is a woman’s basketball team mind you – a room filled with girls can get overwhelming… but this was fantastic and fun.
Next – we switched cars. Yanking everything out of my car and shoving it into the truck and vs/vs. Not a fun thing..
The wind was blowing about 40mph, which made the wind chill at close to 60 degrees below 0. Okay… so I exaggerate… but it was so cold.
My hubby asked if I was going to miss my little van? Nope – I said goodbye to her the last time the A/C broke in the middle of the summer heat.
Then I whipped back to the hotel room to try to get a bit of work done… and I ended up taking a nap. 🙂
We passed this car…. looks like someone on my son’s team is saying “Hi”. 🙂
We raced back to the college to watch my kid coach and we held our breath for the first half… his team was loosing.
He said that at half time he gave them a good pep talk. I think he reminded the girls that his mom was in the stands and he didn’t appreciate them loosing in front of me… LOL
After the game we decided to grab a bite to eat. We choose a Mexican food restaurant… which is silly since we have some of the best Mexican food on the planet right in my hometown. And the food served was not anything like we expected. I’m all for trying new food and restaurants (remember) but I always home to be pleasantly surprised by at least one thing during the meal.
The service was fantastic… the food – not so much. Even the margarita was to sweet. Where is the lime people???
Oh well… we had a nice visit with my son and his girlfriend. Not a late night tonight… early to bed.
I was going to get some work done… but my computer and the Verizon software are having huge problems getting along. I’m going to bed while my computer guru tech (hubby) takes a look to see what he can “fix”.
