As you can see – I’m very chipper and excited to get on the road. I was up late last night brow beating myself for coming up with this hair brain idea for a road trip somewhere where it’s so cold.
I feel better this morning.. much better. I’m excited to be taking a much needed break from the same “ol” day to day stuff and get a bit of “new stuff” filtering in.
We stopped at this restaurant outside Phoenix. I have dined at one of the Paradise Cafe’s – but not this one. It’s in the Lake Pleasant area just off the 303. In case you are ever traveling in Arizona).
That’s my sweet hubby – the look on his face says it all. “Hurry up and take the darn picture, I’m hungry”…. lol. Good thing he understands that I’m documenting my “working on the road” trip with you. 🙂
I hooked up my Verizon air-card while I’m a passenger in the car. I’ve never worked online while the car is moving! How cool is this? I can blog, upload pictures and check my email and then get off and enjoy the scenery. I even purchased a product and downloaded it!!!
I’m working on my 2011 plan book that Melissa has been harping at me to get done. I have to tell you – I never quite got the “big picture” of how this was going to make my life easier and also help my business grow. I finally got it a few days ago.
You can see the book on the dashboard… I’ll be sharing a video of what’s in that notebook in a few days.
Headed into Flagstaff, Arizona… yes – that’s SNOW. Have I told you how much I dislike cold weather. It’s toasty in the car… but I know in just a few minutes we are going to be in Flagstaff and I will be forced to exit my cozy cocoon.
We stopped for coffee in Flagstaff. This is a fun place (neat college kids atmosphere) that my youngest found while he was getting his degree at NAU.
And yes, that’s ice on the ground and snow on the roof. I’m starting to second guess my decision that my “working on the road” trip is a good idea.
Just about the time I said “I’m going to miss this car – it’s been such a great car for 11 years” the engine coolant light came on! Oh My Goodness it’s cold in Grants, NM. 27 degrees… Yikes.
We made it to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Staying the night at the Navito Lodge – Really Nice!! And not quite as cold – tonight is a balmy 45 degrees. 🙂
More tomorrow… If I can keep my fingers from freezing…. chatter chatter.

What fun! I’m looking forward to your next report — and do stay warm!
Looks like fun! Thanks for sharing your photos Debra. Don’t you just love the freedom of working from anywhere! I was wondering how well the air-cards worked; even on the road huh, – that’s great!

Hey Deb, I LOVED my Verizon aircard for the last two years since I was back and forth to Florida checking on my recuperating parents. It’s a wonderful tool, but it is pricey if you have 2-3 months in between when you aren’t using it. If you use it regularly, it’s a great tool and well worth it. I finally let the aircard go when I upgraded to my Droid. For 1/3 of my monthly aircard cost I can use my Droid and go wireless to my laptop. Can’t wait to hear more of your road adventures and I absolutely LOVE that Arizona hotel – looks like a super fun place to stay. Keep the posts coming and safe travels!
Hey Sherie… I’ve been thinking about getting a Droid. We want to get the Droid that has the wireless to laptop AND international service ability for Italy. We are headed to Italy in May and Hubby has go to have his cell phone. Blech….
Anyway – we will have wireless for the laptop in Italy at my son’s home… but while on the “road” it’s nice to be able to get online. Do you love your Droid? What model phone did you get?
Fond memories of Flagstaff for me chatting to a shop owner who had wolves and used to take them to schools to educate kids. He was the lovliest man.
Now that Hotel is gorgeous and so is the snow.
Debra,
45 degrees sounds warm to me, actually so does 27. It was a whopping -12 yesterday morning and a bit warmer this morning at +7.
My road trip would definately be to a warmer climate. Maybe Arizona 🙂
Thanks for the pictures I love showing them to my hubby and dreaming.
