What I Know About Keywords Today

I’m not really going to share everything I know about Keywords – Today.   I’ll save that for a later date. What I am going to share is what good long tail keywords are, what I’m using to rank in the search engines, and why I’ve fallen in love with the WP Robot Plugin

I’ve already shared with you “how I found out about WP Robot” from Tiffany Dow. But let me share a bit “More” about what Tiffany Dow has taught me about Keywords – that I’ve missed (the point) from other IM teachings.

The internet has changed. Well… maybe I’ve changed.   With so many pages of content out in cyber space… how in the world are we “little” guys going to get out blogs found on the internet? And… if our blogs can’t get found – we won’t make money for retirement.  What’s a Baby Boomer to do?

I’ve been learning about Internet Marketing (and applying what I learn) for over 5 years. Light bulbs take a while to light up in my brain… I’m old. Ha!  I thought I was using “long tail keywords” in the correct way… and I was – to a point.

All of my blogs (so far) are rich in content. They provide the reader with good visuals (images) and a ton to “chew-on”. This is also how my blogs get “ranked in the search engines quickly” and stay ranked for a ton (I mean loads) of great long tail keywords.

The Big Problem! I don’t rank well for many keywords that are related to Products!

My theory - Rank for good information – and insert buying opportunities sprinkled throughout my blog articles.

Good Theory! Bad for Sales. Don’t get me wrong. I make a nice income with all of my little income producing “oil wells” on the internet. But I could do better! So much better!

This is the year to get this “affiliate marketing thing” Right!

Anyway… I’ve been following Tiffany Dow (and others – but Tiff is the one who seems to be able to get into my brain – and make sense) – since last year.

I used her Squidoo Lens strategies to increase my income on Squidoo Lenses and it worked. Like a charm! Which brightened the bulb a “bit”.

Instead of working myself to death on Squidoo lenses that related to “Topics” – I started to create lenses that relate to “products”. Go figure – people who want to buy something are searching online by “product name and model number”. You can see one of my lenses made the “Tiff Way” here: Heart Shaped Diamond Necklace

I’ve also learned (from Tiff) that you can have micro-niche blogs that make money. I don’t have one yet… I have watched her build them with fascination… and it’s something I’m going to be working on as soon as my Old Blogs are all back on track and making profit.  You can read about Tiff’s adventure with Network Blazer.

Okay… let me get back on track and tell you why I’m dancing for joy today!  It’s not because I sold something with a big affiliate commission… it’s because of what I found in my “stats” today.

One of the blogs Iinstalled the WP Robot Plugin on yesterday afternoon – is working!  (I haven’t even checked all the other blogs yet). This blog is one of those little “gems” that amazed me and yet I couldn’t get back to work on it. With 6 (count ‘em) blog posts – (all posted Sept. last year) I was getting some sporadic traffic – But I have made (to this date) $85 profit! Not to shabby.

But – the search engines were finding me for keywords like these:

Not much in the way of “Buying Keyword” in that list. Then I look at today’s list of keywords (these are searches that someone has actually clicked on the link in the search engines and come to my blog):

That blog post is one that WP Robot inserted yesterday! (It’s the “little” things that get me excited
