RoboFormI gave my VA’s (Virtual Assistants) one of the best gifts last year!  I could have sent chocolates or flowers – but those only last a few days (or minutes in the case of chocolates).

I sent them a tool they could actually use every day to make their work time easier and faster… and of course that benefits me in the long run. :)

The tool is called Robo Form. I’ve been using RoboForm for several years and I don’t know how I would function if it ever “quit” working.  It’s the coolest little “fill in the blank” tool you will ever find… and it works like a charm.

Robo Form Toolbar

I use it to save all my passwords and it also saves my work and home addresses and credit card information. It’s secure and you can set a special extra password to protect the entire data base in case someone steals your laptop.

It remembers my passwords, so that I do not have to write them on pieces of paper. Not only does it fill in the passwords for you, it can do the whole login thing: go to a site, fill forms, click the Login button. It also fills those ubiquitous web forms in one click.

I really like it and best of all, it is completely free. They do not show ads to you and they do not spy on you. RoboForm has received very positive reviews from publications such as The Wall St Journal, Financial Times and PC Magazine.

For instance:

RoboForm SafeNote EditorI need to log into dozens of blogs, membership sites, forums and email programs every day.  I don’t save my logins or pin numbers for security reasons.

When I hit a page that requires a log-in - RoboForm pops up with a little window to ask me if I want to fill in the user name and password.  I click yes and it’s all done. Boom… logged in.

There is a place to open up all your logins and personal data into a printable format. I keep a printed copy of all my login and banking information in a variety of secure locations.

If I ever have one of those dreaded days… and my computer crashes!!! Yikes… I have a “hard copy” to re-create the data base.

Of course – I can also save all the data to another portable thumb drive or external hard drive… and just reload. Pretty cool little features.

Then… let’s say I need to do some shopping online:

I have several favorite shopping sites that I am registered at. I can log- in quick – choose my items – fill in the credit card and address info in a matter of seconds (just a few clicks) and boom… I’m done.

Some of the shopping is for personal and some is for business… I have different addresses and credit cards for each. Robo Form keeps track of all of that for me… it’s click and fill like magic.

I am an affiliate marketer – how does RoboForm help me?

Every time you sign up for a new affiliate program – they want your Tax Id. For corporations this is a different ID than your Social Security number. I can’t remember that Tax Id number for anything… but Robo Form does.

What if I want to generate hard to remember passwords?

RoboForm Password GeneratorRobo Form does that as well… you can generate those number/letter combinations on the fly and then Robo Form will remember them when you need to log-in again.

RoboForm.com has a Free Version. The free version only holds a limited amount of passwords… which you will use up in a flash.

It’s the Pro Version that has unlimited features… and when you purchase the Pro Version of RoboForm… you can purchase extra licesnese for your VA’s at a discounted rate.

It’s a deal that your budget will love and is a Great Gift for your Virtual Assistant.

And… you won’t have to pay for shipping… just send them the link!

Save A Seat For Humor In Your Work At Home Day

By Debra Conrad On November 2, 2009 No Comments

This is my first article in the “cross blogging” series where I explore a topic and then ask a fellow blogger a question. It’s all in good fun and of course you can see the linking benefit.

Work At Home HumorLaugh! Laugh out loud if you can. Giggle to yourself if you are in a public place. Get it out!

Find “A Funny” today and every day. Make it part of your to-do list. It’s important.

This is not a joke… (okay – bending the rules here), finding something humorous to giggle about everyday will help with your productivity.

I know… that seems like a stretch. Stick with me a few more minutes here…

Imagine it’s Monday morning… you have the entire day (and week) fresh with possibilities. It’s a wonderful feeling to know you are going to get so much accomplished.

Fast Forward – Friday afternoon has reared it’s ugly dark cloud… and you have your to-do list from Monday that doesn’t have one thing crossed off.

What do you do? Cry? Pull your hair? Kick the dog? (No – don’t kick the dog)…

Laugh... or at least find something to giggle about. Read the funnies… call your best friend… put a piece of packing tape on the dogs paw… give your kids peanut butter and jelly (no bread)… something.

Anything! Even if you have to watch a stupid pet trick on YouTube…

Now… don’t you feel better? What if you did this every day? Imagine how your family would feel if they knew you were going to be cheerful at least once every day?

Dan Reinhold has started a website just for us Work At Homers… It’s the easiest place to find humor related to Working At Home.  Unless you are someone who sits at home all day looking at a computer screen… you won’t get the humor.  This puts you in an elite category, dedicated to finding humor in the crazy world of “business at home”.

You will find Dan dishing out giggles on his website  Work At Home Humor http://wahumor.com/

Hey Dan… I know you like to find the humor in every day work at home life, but when do you find time to work? It seems like you have a full schedule of “at home” duties.  Give us a few clues on how you “get ‘er done”.

Do You Know What A Bing Is?

By Debra Conrad On October 14, 2009 No Comments

bing search engine

Have you seen the commercials? Yes… someone is paying a ton of cash to advertise a new search engine.

Who is paying out all this money? Microsoft!!!

They are once again trying to get back into the “make some money off advertisers” game competing with Yahoo! and Google.

Okay… so big deal. Why am I even mentioning this to you?

I thought the same thing. I saw the commercials and wasn’t even thinking about how it might affect me and my websites.

A few days ago I was looking over some stats – (you know – that stuff you have to look at to know if things are working inside your websites) and I am starting to see searches coming in from Bing!

I’m getting hits on keywords that Google won’t give me the time of day for. How cool is that?

It appears that someone is watching those commercials and switching to Bing for their search engine of choice.

Bing has webmaster tools just like Google – I am currently going through the process of listing all my sites in the webmaster tools. This will make some interesting comparison.

Plus… if Google ever pulls the plug on the free services – maybe Bing will be the alternative.

And… make sure you have submitted your URL’s to Bing if they aren’t finding you.
