Today I want to get deep into what a Streamer IS! I coined this term just a few months ago and it has really stuck in my brain.
Streamer = Someone Who Has Multiple Streams Of Online Income
It’s a big HUGE world of opportunities, we all just need tiny bite sized chunks of these opps to create the ripple effect.
When you think of all your efforts as one big picture, it can (it does for me) get overwhelming.
Start thinking about all your ideas for generating multiple streams of income as tiny pebbles. Throw one tiny pebble into the stream and you eventually will start to see a ripple.
The ripples grow and grow until they merge into the stream and eventually that stream merges into a Huge River of online income.
Streamers (you and I) must learn to work with clear and focused effort on ONE stream until it’s generating a consistent income, then move on to the next.
Remembering that we never (ever ever ever) want to focus all our energy on One Stream for all time. This is where things get tricky… putting all our efforts into one idea and never giving thought about the day that stream of income might dry up.
Keep It Simple
Keeping it simple has always been my goal. I’ve not always taken the straight path, often veering off course. Many times I’ve had to slap myself back into reality (or others have done it for me with a few simple words) and get back on track.
Many models of creating income will come and go. Some of them are just plain silly and should never have been put to the test.
Simple is much easier to learn and duplicate. Proven income models are repeatable.
5 Top Streamer Income Models
These 5 Income Models are my personal favorites. I’ve tried several others -writing and selling PLR content and creating websites for other business are the two I can think of that I started – and did not stick with because I didn’t like doing the work.
1) Information Websites
These are Niche Websites that are based on one small specific topic. My best niche information websites are in the home and hobby categories.
The most important part of information websites is giving information away for free. The income is generated with affiliate links to websites like Amazon, Google Adsense income and other advertising.
Another way to generate income on an information based website is Affiliate Marketing.
Affiliate marketing is reviewing and recommending other people’s products. Instead of having to create your own product, a detailed sales-page, setup billing and handle customer service, all you need to do is bring in traffic.
Once you get the traffic to their website (through affiliate links), their job is to make the sale. Once the sale is made, you get a percentage of the sale price. For physical products (like those you recommend on Amazon), the commission is usually between 5% and 20%. For digital products, the commission can be anywhere between 20% and 50%.
2) Teaching Others
I do love to teach! I seem to have a gift of gab and teaching just goes hand in hand with gabbing.
I’ve been teaching for years, most of it was free information. The money part comes in with teaching through guides, paid forums, guides etc.
Usually you will need a website to gather your information together and make it available for others to consume.
Of course, you will want to have an email list to send out your great new information. I send out to my list often.
What should you teach? Teach about what you know – even if it’s a tiny bit of knowledge. The great thing about teaching is that you can still be learning along the way.
Publishing books, video and audio content is a great way to get going generating an stream of income.
Becoming a book author is a powerful statement to those that want to learn from you.
Audio content is often free (like my Thrifting For Profit Podcast), the income comes from recommending products and advertising. Of course you can create audio products and sell them as well.
Video content is a huge ball of wax all unto itself.
- Give video content away for free on sites like YouTube (linking back to your website).
- Create video content to include in your own products to sell.
- Use video to review other products and make income with affiliate linking strategies.
4) Selling Physical Products on Amazon and Ebay
I love selling physical products – and as of July 2014 I have been at it full tilt.
It’s a slow growth business (for me) which depends on how much money and time you can invest. When you reinvest all your income, you won’t have anything to live on.
When I say slow growth… I don’t mean small growth. This part of my business has exploded my income, but it’s not the only way I generate dollars. I refuse to put all my efforts, money, time and goals based on Amazon and/or eBay letting me sell products on their platform.
5) Group and Personal Coaching
This is a tough topic. I go back and forth offering coaching and then not.
Because Time IS Money and I don’t always have a bunch of time to coach.
I’ve had to raise my own coaching fees over the years, which always saddens me a bit. I am dedicated to helping as many as I can to grow a business with a foundation that will last them for years. Yet, I still have to provide for my family.
My first coaching gigs were for my local area. This was way before websites were on the map. I taught groups of locals to start a small business. I think I charged about $25 per person and had 25 -30 people attend. I thought I was rolling in the big bucks back then.
The idea is to start small and get your feet wet. Start local and find out where your strengths are and what others resonate with.
I’ve moved away from individual one-on-one coaching and now stick with group coaching.
That’s It – Five different online business models I use with a proven history of success.
