Today, on The Streamer Show with Debra Conrad, we are talking about When, Why and How To Merchant Fulfill.
We love to sell products using the Amazon FBA system, which allows us to house our inventory at the Amazon warehouse and let Amazon take care of almost all the customer service and ship all our products for us. It IS an amazing system to use, but you will find times when MF (Merchant Fulfill) is a better option.
Charlene Anderson joins me to share some of the reasons why and when and also how to merchant fulfill products through Amazon.
Listing MF Is Super Simple
In fact, I just helped someone who had a customer request a specific quantity of one of her products. She just created a listing in a few seconds and converted it to MF. The customer purchased and she made a hefty profit.
Payday Falling Short? Merchant Fulfill A Few Products To Increase Your Payout
There are times throughout the year that you may want to quickly bump up your payout dollars. If you have found a few products that you can quickly sell for a few dollars profit by using MF, this can be a great option.
When the customer pays for the product – that payment is going to be in your current payout. This takes a bit of hustle and a bit of math… but if you think about it, it might be something you want to “tinker” with.
It’s Too HOT To Wait – Amazon Is Out Of Stock! Sell It Today!
Amazon DOES run out of stock. Especially this time of year when inventory is just flying off the shelves. Even if they have the stock, somewhere… it’s not listed for sale (even for a few short hours at a time).
Think about walking into your local big box store and seeing an empty shelf where the product you want to buy should be sitting. Now… think about that store having a back stock of that inventory that they haven’t gotten out to the sales floor. It won’t sell in the back… yet they aren’t selling because they have a “bottle-neck” and no one to stock the shelf.
What if – some other store down the street came running in with a hand truck filled with that product and threw it on the shelf? This competitor has set up a win/win relationship with the store:
- The customer is happy because they can buy the product they want – RIGHT NOW.
- The seller (the competitor) is happy because they are selling a ton of inventory, usually at a higher price.
- The store is happy, because the customer is happy and they are probably getting a small fee for each product that is sold.
NOTE: I’ve never seen this happen in a store in the U.S. – but I see it happen all the time in Mexico. Smart little shop owners live south of the border.
Sell Some – Ship Some
When you sell products that you are the only seller (I have lot’s of bundle products where I am the only seller) and you have run out of inventory… list a few MF and ship in the rest.
Products With Expiration Dates
Got a great deal on a grocery or health/beauty product – but the expiration date is not within Amazon FBA parameters? Sell it on eBay and/or Amazon MF.
