I read this question from new online marketers every day. Some of you may have a goal in mind already and some of you just want to know “How Much Can I Make With Micro-Niche Sites?”
If anyone gives you a finite answer to that question… they are lying. There are too many variables for anyone to give a truthful answer.
I do talk about the income I make in my business on this blog… but it’s not about the money I make – Because every micro niche site will be different.
What I talk about is about getting ranked high and ranked quickly so you can get traffic. With traffic you can make sales.
I just received an email from a gal who has a goal to make a $1000 a month. I think she is very new to internet marketing and building micro niche websites.
I just don’t want to waste a bunch of time and money on something that will get me nowhere. I really, really, really need to start bringing in some income.
Are you making any money with your micro niche sites? Do you mind sharing with me how many sites you have and how much they are bringing you in? I guess I just need to know what is reasonable for me to expect.
Sound familiar?
There will always be those that can make a bunch of cash quickly online and then show it to all of us small guys.
I’m just one of those online marketers that takes the slow and steady approach. I’m over 50 years old and I’m building this business to be our retirement plan. I don’t want any “one shot wonders”… I want to build good solid micro niche sites that make me a steady income so that we will have a nice comfortable retirement.
My response:
Your goal is a bit high for a “newbie”.
If you have never made a buck online – then making your first $1 is huge. If you have made a bit – then making $50 a month would be a good “first” goal.
It’s really about baby steps – so you don’t get frustraited.
Once you get the hang of putting up micro-niche blogs and making some cash… it’s an easy process to do it over and over.
If you spend your “money making” time reading all the emails and watching all the video from every new idea that comes along… you
will get nowhere.
Get some Focus in your business and you will start to see results.
You must learn the system that IPK spells out for you. I don’t care that others are saying it’s outdated. It’s working for me.
Here is the big thing you must realize.
Big “authority” sites will make more money than small micro-niche sites.
I have several large authority sites that make me a nice income (not a rich lifestyle income). I could continue to grow those sites… but I’ve got them
working for me just fine at this time, so I decided to try more of the micro-niche site building… and I love it.
My plan is that every micro-niche site makes $20 a month profit. Some of the sites I have finished have reached that goal right away and some
need some work. Some are making more than $20 a month already.
If you had 50 micro niche sites each making $20 a month you would be meeting your $1000 a month goal.
50 sites may seem like a lot. And they will cost you about $10 bucks for each domain name. (plus you have to have a good hosting account). And…
you have to renew those domain names every year and pay for hosting every year. That takes a bite out of your profits.
I can build a website in a day… actually it takes about 5 hours to get it finished up.
If I would make the effort to get a site done in a day – I would have those 50 sites up in less than 2 months.
I’m not saying that micro- niche sites can’t make a lot more than $20 per month (depending on the niche). I just don’t “plan” to have them
make more than that.
I want to have a base income that I can pretty much count on… anything extra is a bonus.
The other side of the coin is to do ONE big authority site. This is cheaper because you don’t have to purchase a ton of domain names.
You still must have a good hosting account. You will commit to blogging on that site at least 2 or 3 times per day until the site is huge.
These authority sites are great for Adsense income and Amazon sales as well. Easy to do – but I get bored with the subject and often don’t
get the site to “true authority status”.
I used to outsource the work to complete the sites – but have never found someone who follows directions so that the blog looks exactly
the way I want it to be. I’m thinking about hiring my son’s girlfriend to work in my office so I can teach her from scratch. That is another story for another day. :0)

P.S. I’ve got a system down pat using the Thesis Theme and IPK (I’m also reviewing “Bring The Fresh”). So far it’s working for me… If you need more help don’t hesitate to ask. :0)

Great article about niche sites. I am new to the concept and to internet marketing. I can definitely see how some people want to make money right away but it will just not happen that fast. So far I have made $3.00 and I know that I have alot of work to do (that I haven’t been doing lol). I agree that starting small is definitely the best way to think in this type of business.
Start small – but think Big! Keep writing down goals and working to meet them. That’s the way to keep track of your progress. Keep a journal… you will be amazed at how
far you will have come when looking back at those old journals.
