Part of a series here: Working On The Road Trip
Much of the drive today (several hours) is right next to these red cliffs. It goes on and on and on… pretty… but I do get tired of the same scenery.
Before we left Albuquerque – we drove through some of old town. Not the tourist area… but into the old neighborhoods. I love old houses. I think my dad’s love of anything old has been beamed down to me from the heavens.
When you drive through New Mexico – you will see dozens (many dozens) of signs directing you to the next “authentic” New Mexico art store. Don’t be dragged in! Don’t do it… it’s not where you should purchase anything from New Mexico. Most of it’s junk.
In fact we passed on shop that was filled with New Mexico art – and it was all “stuff” imported from Mexico. We see the same “stuff” on our trips south of the border.
We called one of our neighbors (who is from New Mexico) and she shared a “short cut” we didn’t think was possible. This short cut cut off about 2 hours of drive time… but it took us through high country again. Pretty drive… but I’m really getting tired of being cold!
This new path dropped us into Mesa, AZ in time to catch dinner with my best “girly” friend. Nice to have a break from driving and when I opened the truck door… ahhhh…. balmy 72 degrees.
I was so excited to see cactus and an Arizona sunset – I snapped a picture for you. Hanging out the truck window – driving at 75 mph – snapping pictures is not such an unusual site – Except – when the vehicle is clearly from Arizona. LOL…
People on the highway must still be scratching their heads.
This ends my 5 day – 2600 mile – Working On The Road Trip. I’m so tired of driving… blechhhkkk…
I did learn so much this trip. It’s the first trip that I focused on what I could and couldn’t get done while on a driving trip. I have a few things to “fix” and it involves some research and purchases.
I’ll share the equipment we used and what we need to upgrade tomorrow.
Then I’ll show you what I got accomplished – including some great ideas in day or so….
I did get a bunch done… and I do have a marketing lesson for you. I promise to share all that in the next few days. :0)
p.s. I have a brand new set of “lessons” planned for February. In fact… I have lessons planned for the entire year… I’m going to be taking you down a more “logical” path. Stay tuned…
