I mentioned in my WP Robot Review last week that I picked up the Amazonian Profit Plan. I can’t remember who sent me an email recommending that I check it out… forgive me - I’m old and have OFD (old farts disease).
You can check out the entire Amazonian Profit Plan Review
What will catch your eye first on the sales page is the claim that they average $10k a month from Amazon affiliate sales. WHAT?!?!
You know I really hate bold – unfounded – income statements. I usually click away immediately. But since it was recommended that I check out the sales letter …. Well… okay… I’ll give it a 10 minute look.
I actually read this sales page 3 times. In fact – I came back to the Amazonian sales page several more times over several days. After reading the description – I figured “I know all that already”. Plus the product is *gasp* $97 bucks! *gasp*.
If you don’t have $97 to spend to learn something new… you probably should skip reading the rest of this review. I never (ever) recommend that you spend money you don’t have.
I have been working very hard at NOT buying new products… and yet I’ve purchased some extraordinary products lately – Bring The Fresh and Info Product Killer – are just two. So… my plan for not buying “bright shiny new things” isn’t working well. But – I’ve had great success with these new purchases. They are sooo worth the investment. I mean – really – I’ve learned so much and the income is starting to grow.
My biggest hurdle is this: I’m getting burned out with building little niche sites. Go figure. I even sell a product teaching how I build small micro-niche sites in a day!
I’m sure the reason I kept coming back to the Amazonian Profit Plan sales page is that I needed a break from building small sites (not that I don’t still work on building new sites – just not so many in one month). Plus… you must realize that all those little sites will not make a huge amount of income (at least not right away).
Remember – I have a few very large authority sites! These sites are responsible for the largest % of my affiliate income. I knew (deep down) that I really should be taking time to work on those sites and see if I could increase the income generating from them. The problem – I wasn’t going to take the time. I had so much on my plate already – and the to-do list grows longer every day.
I felt a little breath of fresh air wash over me when I read this on the Amazonian sales page:
At one point we were madly adding 8 reviews a day to one of our blogs in the hope that it would somehow start making us a decent living. And we weren’t using any plugins either, we were writing those reviews ourselves…from scratch. It brought in the traffic mind you, but it was tough work and in the end the conversions still weren’t that great.
Then suddenly it dawned on us…
…we were going about this in the wrong way. Because you see, out of the thousands of reviews on our blogs only around 10 to 20 were actually making any money. Sure we had other pages that brought in a few dollars every now and then but only those 10 to 20 were actually making a consistent regular income…albeit it wasn’t much at the time.
So far – I felt like I was reading my own story. I have these huge websites and yet they don’t convert as well as I think they should. I’ve never “really” taken the time to figure out why… I just keep working on new stuff.
Next I read a bit of a shocker:
So we came to the conclusion that we no longer needed to add hundreds of product reviews or keep building more websites in a frantic attempt to try and make money online. That was a liberating feeling to say the least. What it meant was that we could stop and relax a little and start to focus on only a few pages at a time instead of hundreds.
Good Grief! Are they talking about me? Adding hundreds of product reviews and building more websites… “frantic”… “attempt”… “make money online“. Is that me?
Could I take some time to stop and relax? Could I really just focus on only a few pages at a time? Nope… that doesn’t sound like it would work for me.
Better Reviews Means More Sales
This next paragraph sort of punched me in the belly:
But that wasn’t what started bringing in the big dollars
What eventually did it for us was when we came to the realization that we really weren’t providing our readers with what they really wanted – and that was quality reviews. Up until that point, our reviews were short and didn’t really provide much substance. They really weren’t particularly helpful at all. We had always thought – “Just get them to Amazon as quick as possible…who cares what the review is like as long as they click through and buy something…”
Now – I have this creepy feeling! It feels like someone has been watching me work on my Amazon reviews and knows exactly what I’m thinking every time I hit “publish”.
Lately – I know that I have Not been writing amazon product reviews that are particularly helpful. I didn’t really think I needed to do “helpful” reviews. I don’t know why not… I write helpful content on my authority sites all the time… I just didn’t think that I needed to spend hours and hours researching and writing reviews on a small micro-niche site.
Choose Better Products To Review
The way I work at my system is this: find the keywords and then the product. Simple.
Now – I’m reading that I may not be choosing the “right” or “best” products to review? Huh?
Adding hundreds (if not thousands) or poor quality reviews just didn’t work. It was only when we starting writing quality reviews using a new format we devised, that the sales jumped. We knew we were on to something.
We also realized that we had been choosing the wrong products and it was affecting our sales and ultimately our income. We were just randomly selecting products from Amazon with little thought about how they might convert. So after some trial and error, we came up with a 5 step process for selecting products and it worked.
Two things catch my eye - Format (which means “blueprint” to me) and 5-step-process (which translates to “system”). I am a huge fan of blueprints and systems.
So… I might not be writing quality reviews or choosing the right products – even on my “best” review pages? Hmmmm…. (see my finger on my chin)?
Suddenly – Shmuddingly
Now we get to the Suddenly part… this is usually where I start to question whether something is “real”. Nothing happens “Suddenly”.
We suddenly had products that were converting. Mind you, this didn’t all happen overnight – it took us a while to get all the pieces together but when we did, suddenly everything started falling into place. The money started pouring in and suddenly we were making thousands a month instead of a few hundred dollars.
But… remember – they have shown us the income proof:
Could this be faked? Yes! Do I think it’s faked? NO! That’s why I kept reading the sales letter… these gals don’t seem to be scummy marketers – at all.
What’s in the Amazonian Profit Plan?
The list is long and this is where I kept saying to myself “I already Know This Stuff”.
First – this is where the *gasp* will come:
We offer our complete blueprint for making money online with the Amazon Associates Program. This is 75 pages of solid step-by-step information – and no we didn’t double-space or use a huge font so it is actually 75 pages.
Gosh – that doesn’t seem very big. Really – only 75 pages? And… no bonus package? Are these gal’s “for real”? Haven’t we all learned that we must “over” deliver?
The “Soft Sell”:
The most important thing you will learn with this method…
…is that you don’t have to create hundreds or thousands of product reviews in order to make a full time living online. You only need a handful of pages. In fact, you can actually make a full-time income with just one product review…we have individual pages that are doing just that.
However, we don’t recommend creating just one page of content…you never know what Google might do or the product may become obsolete. But essentially what we are getting at is that you don’t need a lot of pages for this method to work. This is really the relaxed way to making money online. There’s no stress and no frantic rush to get hundreds of pages online. It’s a more focused approach and it works.
It involves providing quality rather than quantity. You will feel less stressed and have more time in the day using this approach…believe me!
Could you “really” make a living with just a few product review pages? hmmmm… (finger is back on chin). I want to believe them… I really do.
I’m all in favor of anything that is “relaxed and focused”. In fact – it would be really nice to get my “focus” back.
- Product Selection – Our complete criteria for selecting Amazon products that convert – our 5 step selection criteria can make the difference between choosing a product that converts or one that is a complete flop.
I do know about a few systems for selecting Amazon products. I’ve never used them. Price-points, product reviews and bestsellers – all have a place in most of the “systems”. What could be different in Amazonian?
- A complete step-by-step to creating a product review from start to finish using an actual example – we include how to write the content, the title, where to insert images, how to write your introduction and conclusion and other critical information you need to create a highly converting product review.
I’ve already got something that teaches how to write a review… (somewhere in a file on my desktop). This shouldn’t be something that is hard to figure out… right?
Do I need to know where to insert the images? Isn’t the place right above the fold?
Besides an intro and conclusion – what other critical information should I be including to get higher conversions?
Eventually I read somewhere that these gal’s recommend the product review page should be over 1000 words! Huh? Who does that? That’s one of the times I came back to the sales letter to read about the Amazonian Profit Plan again.
- Where to include Amazon affiliate links in your product – we will tell you exactly where to include those product links, how many times in each review and we also include a step-by-step to inserting affiliate links behind images.
I know this is valuable to someone new to marketing Amazon products as an affiliate. I’ve had to teach this to some of my own coaching students. It’s simple once you know how to do it… but it can be confusing. I don’t need to learn how to do this.
Wait… they said “where to include the links” and “how many times to include the links”. Is that something I should know?
- How to write about the negatives – in order to be completely honest with your readers, you need to include the negatives in your review – we tell you how to do it without destroying your review.
This is something I should be able to figure out… but – I’ve never felt I do a good job of addressing the negatives of a product. I’m good at glossing over stuff.
- How to tell if a product will get traffic – there’s no point writing a review if you aren’t going to get any traffic to the page – we’ll explain how to determine if a product is going to generate enough visitors for you.
I know how to do keyword research… I teach it in my own products. But… I should step down of my soap-box and remember that I can always learn something new.
- How to get traffic to your product reviews – we reveal our number 1 method for generating traffic to our product review websites and provide a step-by-step on how to do it.
I figure they use article marketing. I “hate” article marketing. I know it works… but I don’t do it much. They don’t “say” this is the traffic method they use… I’m just guessing.
3 Checklists Are Also Included
I am not even the least little bit excited about these checklists. If they teach the system – I can write my own checklists. Harsh – but true.
Product Review Example
An example of a completed product review – we use a real life product from Amazon. This is written in the exact format we use for our most successful product reviews.
I would hope that they would include a product review sample… that’s what the focus of Amazonian Profit Plan is. It does look like this is exactly what everyone want’s to see… an exact replication of the type of product review these gals are writing that gets the great conversion.
Disclaimer:
If you have no experience building a website or blog then this program is not for you. We do not go into detail on how to create a blog or build a website of any type. You will need to have a website in place or know how to build one for this method to work.
No problem… I know how to set up a blog. I am curios about what a good blog for affiliate sales “looks like”.
- Should it have side bars?
- Should it have a header?
- Should it have Adsense?
- What do they recommend that works well for them?
There is a 30 day money back guarantee... so if the product doesn’t live up to the claims… I could get a refund. I don’t do it often… but recently I purchased a product that seemed like I could learn something new… and asked for a refund within 3 hours of purchasing.
After several days of sitting on the fence – I did purchase the Amazonian Profit Plan.
The buying process was easy.. no bumps in the road. I got right to the download page and also an email with a link to the download page. Seamless. (I know this isn’t the easiest thing to do – selling my own products).
I’ve had this product for a few days… and have read the entire thing once. I went right to work on a “new” review page. Once I was finished and had published – I went back and read some of the book again… it didn’t take long to realize that I had “still” not written the review correctly. Hurumph.
If I’m ever going to recommend this product – I have to follow the plan. So – I’ve opened up Amazonian again and going through the first product review page I’ve done with the “new” plan and once it’s set up “correctly” – I’ll work on getting links and traffic.
The idea is to concentrate (focus) on just 5 product reviews at a time. If it works – I could actually feel like I had some free time.
What would I do with free time? I dunno… but it would be nice to find out.
